Meet the Crew: Life Behind the Counter at Runway Bites

Our crew doesn't wear aprons, they wear wings. Every team member at Runway Bites, whether stationed at the kiosk or roving the terminal floor, is dressed head-to-toe as airline cabin crew: aviation-style pilot caps with the Runway Bites insignia and gold braid, red shirts with gold shoulder epaulettes and wings badges, a gold tie, and a "Captain [Name]" badge that turns every crew member into a character travelers actually remember.

It's not a costume for the sake of it. The roving crew carries hawker-style neck-trays with glass-covered items and a clipped-on menu card, moving through departure halls and seating areas instead of waiting behind a counter. They take orders on the spot with a handheld pad and portable printer, handing over a boarding-pass token the moment you order. That means staff become walking advertising, visible from 50 meters away, and every shift becomes a small piece of organic social content.

The result is that a routine snack stop turns into a genuine human interaction. Passengers aren't just buying food, they're meeting the Captain on duty. That's the whole idea behind our crew: make the person serving you as much a part of the experience as the food itself.
